Can’t Turn Off Parental Controls

If you can’t turn off parental controls on your Epic Games account, you may have a combined account. This means that the account that sets the parental controls is different from the account you play on. Typically, the parental account is linked to a different email, usually the one of a parent. To change your parental controls you will need to request permission or have your parent adjust the permissions as needed.

Get Help For Combined Account

There are two ways that you can get help for a combined account as a parent. This first method is through the use of the parent/guardian request page. Here you can enter the email linked to the Epic Games account with parental controls enabled. If you don’t have access to the Email used for the parent account then you can contact player support to solve the issue.

Can’t Receive Friend Invite in Fortnite

If you’re unable to receive a friend invite in Fortnite then it may be due to your game settings rather than parental controls. You can change this by opening the Fortnite settings and heading to the Account and Privacy options. On this page, you will find the Social Privacy heading with the Friend Invite Permission setting. Set this to Anyone to receive friend requests.
