To stream with sound on Discord you will need to stream an application. Unfortunately, this limits your ability to stream freely to friends using Discord. However, you can still screen share without sound.
If you still unable to stream with sound on Discord, then there are a few solutions.
Enable Experimental Audio Capture
- Open the user settings.
- Go to the Voice & Video settings.
- Find & enable the “Use an experimental method to capture audio from applications” option.
Add Application as a Registered Game
- Open the user settings.
- Go to the Registered Games settings.
- Click the “Add it” text.
- Expand the drop menu and choose the application you’re streaming.
- Click “Add Game”.

Discord screen sharing allows you to stream your game, application, or screen to friends. This can be done in voice channels and Discord calls. Unfortunately, streaming on Discord also has its limits. One of which is the ability to stream with sound. Although streaming with sound is currently restricted to applications, this will hopefully change in the future.
