Whether you’re moving to Roblox from a different platform, or learning to play Roblox for the first time, there are a series of controls you will need to know. Depending on the game some controls may not be needed. However, knowing what buttons do will make learning any Roblox experience a lot easier. Whether you’re playing Roblox on a desktop PC or laptop the Roblox controls will be the same.

Other Roblox Controls
Although there are basic Roblox controls, some Roblox games have even more controls that you need to learn. For example, the Blox Fruits controls use more of the keys on your keyboard. Typically, these keys are around the WASD keys so they’re easy to press. When it comes to interacting with something, E or F are often used as they’re easy to press. While Z, X, C, and V are commonly used for combat actions.
How to Mute & Unmute Microphone in Roblox
If you have voice chat enabled then a microphone button can be seen in the top left corner of your game. You can click the microphone button to mute and unmute your microphone as needed. However, the game you’re playing will need to have voice chat enabled as well.
How to Emote in Roblox on PC
Although not a primary Roblox control, it’s always good to know how to emote. On PC you can emote by pressing the period key (.) and selecting one of the emote options. Alternatively, you can open the More Menus button in the top left, then select Emotes. Doing so will open the emote wheel where you can select the emote that you want to use with your mouse. Additionally, you can also press the corresponding number on your keyboard to select an emote.
How to Change Roblox Controls on PC
Unfortunately, the only controls you can change are how you move. You can do this by pressing Esc and opening the Settings. Here you will see the Movement Mode option, which you can switch to one of the preset options. These options are fairly limiting, only allowing you to move by clicking rather than using the WASD keys.
If you want to change your individual Roblox controls on PC, then that isn’t currently possible. However, you can use other software to change what each keyboard button does, this process is called keybind remapping or button remapping.
For this you will be remapping one key to another to match the Roblox controls. For example, you could remap your space button to be the W key instead. This means when you hold down Space your PC will think you’re holding down W and move you forward.
Remapping your keys will take awhile to set up and will change the keybind for your entire PC. Meaning typing may become an issue. Due to this I recommend using the default Roblox PC controls instead. Some peripheral software, like Razer Synapse, will allow you to remap keybinds, but again this isn’t recommended. Additionally, you will need to have the supported peripherals for it to work.
How to Move Camera with Keyboard in Roblox
If you want to move your camera in Roblox without right-clicking then you can use the arrow keys. However, you can only move the camera with the left and right arrows. This limits the camera angles possible which isn’t ideal. Unfortunately, if you want to move the camera angle up or down, or in a specific direction, you will need to use your mouse.
One issue with using your mouse to move the camera is that the cursor can be seen. This isn’t ideal if you’re attempting to record a video. Instead, you can record with OBS and set the source to not capture your cursor. Doing so will allow you to move the Roblox camera without your cursor being in the video.
How to Walk on Roblox PC
You can walk on Roblox PC by connecting a controller and moving the left stick slightly. Unfortunately, if you are using keyboard to move you won’t be able to slow walk as there is no sensitivity controls for keyboard. With keyboard your movement is either on or off, whereas with a controller your movement speed is based on how far you push the stick. Fortunately, if you have a controller connected you can still use your mouse and keyboard at the same time.
