To add friends on Valorant you will need their Riot ID and tagline. You will need to enter these in the friend invite menu found at the bottom of the social menu. The social menu is the menu that shows on the right side of Valorant whenever you’re not in a game.
1. Open the social menu on the right side.
2. Click the Add Friend icon at the bottom.
3. Enter your friend’s Riot ID and Tagline.
4. Click the plus icon to send the friend request.
How to Accept a Friend Request on Valorant
When you have a friend request on Valorant a mail icon will appear in the social menu on the side of Valorant. When you expand the social menu you will see who the invite is from, allowing you to accept or decline. To decline a friend request you will need to click the cross icon.
What is a Valorant Tagline?
A Valorant tagline is the discriminator that differentiates you from someone with the same Riot ID. Your tagline comes after the # on your profile and is 3, 4, or 5 characters long. Often the tagline will only be numbers, however, it can be a letter or word. Valorant taglines are also referred to as “tag” or “tags”.
How to Find Your Riot ID and Tagline
You can find both your Riot ID and tagline by opening the side menu in Valorant and hovering your cursor over your profile at the top. This will reveal your profile information, including your Riot ID and tagline. Your tagline will be found after the # and is 3 to 5 characters long.
How to Find Your Riot ID Without Opening Valorant
Another way to find your Riot ID and tagline is to open the Riot Client. Here you can click your profile icon in the corner to see your Riot ID and tagline. Both can be found at the top of the menu, above account details.
How to Find Your Riot ID on Mobile
To find your Riot ID on mobile you will need to sign into your account on the Riot Games website. Once you’ve signed in you can open your settings. Typically your Riot ID and Tagline will be shown at the top, allowing you to share it with a friend.
