The default keyboard shortcut to ping in Valorant is Z. Once pressed a marker will be placed wherever you’re looking. Allowing you to ping without opening your map. This is useful as you can seamlessly ping important information without taking the time to bring up the map. Additionally, these pings will show up for your teammates and on the map. If you have changed your ping keybind then you will need to use your newly assigned keybind to ping in Valorant.
How to Ping with Ping Wheel in Valorant
In Valorant you can also add more information to your ping using the ping wheel. The ping wheel gives you access to 4 different types of pings; Caution, Watching Here, Need Support, and On My Mark.
To open the ping wheel you will need to hold down your ping button. You can select a ping by moving your cursor to one of the options before letting go of the ping button. Once you have released the ping button the selected ping will be placed wherever you are looking. Although this sounds complicated, it can be done quickly with some practice.
How to Find Your Ping Keybind
- Open the Settings.
- Go to Controls then Communication.
- Check the keybind for the Ping (Tap) / Ping Wheel (Hold) option.
How to Change Your Ping Keybinds
You can change your ping keybinds by opening the settings and going to Controls then Communication. Here you will find the Pings heading which has all of the keybind options you need to ping in Valorant. You can set a simple ping keybind using the Ping (Tap) / Ping Wheel (Hold) option. Alternatively, you can also set individual keybinds for the other ping types.
