The Glorious Model O is one of the most popular gaming mice in recent times. The full potential of the mouse is unlocked through the supported software. The software is fairly simple and easy to use for beginners, while giving power users all the tools they need.

You can use the software to customize your mouse performance to best suit your needs or play style. The software gives you the ability to change keybinds, lighting effects, mouse settings, and create macros.

Updating your Model O Firmware

The Glorious Model O will work straight out the box. However to be able to use the supported software you will need to complete a firmware update for your mouse. The firmware update comes with the software. Simply run the firmware application with your mouse plugged in to update the device.

How to Make a Macro with the Glorious Model O

The Glorious software comes with an inbuilt macro editor. This allows you to create your own custom macros for gaming and quality of life improvements. All of your macros can be saved in the macro editor, allowing you to assign them to your mouse buttons at any time.

Open the Macro Editor menu, this can be found on the left side of the software window.

Choose to create a new macro.

A new window will open, name your macro then press “Ok” to continue.

All of your saved macros will be shown in the left column. The steps for the selected macro are shown in the Key list on the right.

You can create your macro script by recording your button clicks and key presses. Recording your actions is the easiest way to create a macro. Press the “Start Record” button to capture your inputs.

Input your keyboard presses, then press “Stop Record” to end.

If you want to add mouse clicks to your macro, then you will need to insert them manually. To insert a click select the “Insert Event” drop menu and choose the action to add.

You will notice an up and down arrow next to each key event. The arrows represent a press or release. Between each event, there will also be a number. The number refers to the time delay, in milliseconds, between each event.

Double-clicking on an event will allow you to change the assigned action or value. You may also delete an action by selecting it and pressing the delete button in the macro editor, or using the delete key on your keyboard.

Assigning a macro to a button on your mouse can be done by remapping your mouse binds.

Button Remapping

Like other popular gaming mice, the Model O allows you to completely remap buttons through the software. Each button can be assigned a new keybind or macro. This allows you to customize the mouse functionality to best suit your play style.

In the top left corner you will see all the buttons on the mouse, represented by a number. The numbers correspond with the numbers shown on the mouse. Next to each number, you can also see the current function for that button.

You can remap a button by clicking on the current function. A drop menu will open with a list of all key bind options.

Choose a new function. As a safety measure, you will always need to have at least one button on your mouse bound to the left click. If you’d like to assign a macro or fire key to your left button, then you’ll need to assign the left click to a different key first.

When assigning a macro to your Model O you will see a list of your saved macros. Choose one to add it to your device.

To ensure your new binds have been saved, press “Apply” in the bottom right corner of the window.

RGB Light Effects

The Model O mouse has stunning RGB lights that you can customize using the software. There are a few effects to choose from, with different color options.

The light effects can be found under the Lighting tab, on the right side of the window. You can change the effect via the drop menu. By default, the mouse will be set to the Glorious lighting mode.

Some of the lighting effects allow you to customize the color output. These effects will have colored boxes. Double click on one of the colored boxes to open the color picker. Select the color you want then press ok.

Other lighting effects give you the ability to change the speed, brightness, and direction.

Profiles

In the bottom left corner of the Model O program, you will notice a profile menu. Here you can change between different mouse profiles using the drop menu.

Each profile can be set up with different key binds, macros, lighting effects, and settings. You can create multiple profiles for different games or uses.

The plus icon allows you to create a new profile, and the bin will delete the selected profile. The three dots can be used to rename the current profile.

The three dots also gives you the option to import and export your profiles. This is great for transferring profiles to a new computer or device. It is a good idea to keep your profiles updated and backed up, so you never lose your preferred settings.

How to Change DPI on the Model O

Changing the DPI on the Model O and Model O- is simple with the Glorious software. You can set different DPI levels to switch between using a button on your device.

Your DPI changes how fast your cursor moves across the screen. A higher DPI will be faster, requiring you to move the mouse less. Typically a slower DPI of 400-800 is preferred for gaming.

To set the DPI on the Model O you will need to open the DPI settings on the right side of the software. You will notice various number sets, these are the preset DPI settings.

Click on one of the DPI sets, then use the sliders to adjust the value. By default, the X and Y axis will be locked. You can check the “XY Independent” box down to edit these values separately. The X-axis is left and right, whereas the Y-axis is up and down.

When you have changed your DPI be sure to press “Apply” in the bottom right corner to save your settings.

On the left of each DPI setting is a check box. All the options with a tick next to them will be apart of the DPI loop. You can use the DPI loop function on your mouse to quickly shift between various DPI settings.

The top mouse button, located between the left and right-click buttons, is set to DPI loop by default. If you’re using the mouse without the software you can use this button to switch between your DPI settings on the fly.

You can tell which DPI mode you’re on via the light under your mouse. The default values for the looped settings are 400 (Yellow), 800 (Blue), 1600 (Red), and 3200 (Green). These colors can also be changed in the software by double-clicking on the color swatches.

Change Lift-Off Distance

The lift-off distance, or LOD, is how far the mouse must be lifted to stop signalling movement. A high lift-off distance can make you less accurate when gaming. This is because the mouse will jitter as you lift it off the desk.

The Model O allows you to adjust the lift-off distance. This is an important feature for installing new skates or slides on your mouse. Some third-party mouse skates have a higher profile than the original. This can cause your mouse not to register movement if the LOD isn’t adjusted.

The lift-off distance settings can be found under the mouse parameter menu on the right. Use the slider to adjust the LOD on the Model O mouse. Press “Apply” when you’re happy to save your settings.

Polling Rate

The Polling Rate refers to how many times the position of the mouse is recorded every second. You can change the polling rate on the Model O via the menu on the right. The polling rate is set to 1000Hz by default, feel free to change this if you prefer. A high polling rate is typically preferred for gaming.

Debounce Time

The Glorious Model O mouse is one of the few mice that allow you to change the debounce time. When a button is clicked there is movement in the switch which can cause a vibration or “bounce”. This motion can cause a second click to be registered.

The debounce time sets the mouse to not register another click until a set amount of time has passed. To avoid double clicking the Model O debounce time is set to 10ms. Lowering the debounce time can help speed up repetitive clicks when gaming, however, this isn’t recommended.
