You can make an End Portal in Minecraft using 12 end portal frames and 12 eye of enders. In order for the end portal to work you will need to place the end portal frames in a specific direction. Additionally, you only need to place down 3 end frames for each side, all of which will require an eye of ender on top.
The easiest way to ensure the end frames are positioned correctly is to stand inside of where you want the end portal, and place the frames around you to make the border. You will want to place 3 frames on each side, making sure that no frames are placed in the corners. Additionally, you will want to face the same direction the entire time, and only move left to right and turn 90 degrees to build the next side of the end portal.
In order for the end portal to work you will need to ensure that the frames are only connected on the sides with a square pattern. This side has a more simplistic design with light green boxes on a dark green base.
Additionally, you will want to ensure that the sides that have the yellow or brown squares are positioned to the inside and outside of the portal. These sides have a more complex pattern with more colors.
After you have placed down the 12 end portal frames you will need to add an eye of ender on top of each end frame. You should always double check that each end frame is placed correctly before placing the eye of ender on top. Once all 12 of the frames have an eye of ender the end portal will be created in Minecraft.
End Portal Won’t Work in Minecraft
If your end portal isn’t working then it’s most likely because the end frames aren’t positioned correctly. It is important to have the frames facing the correct direction. End frames have a top and bottom and left and right side. This means that the frames should only be connected on the sides.
Can You Build a Nether Portal in the End?
Unfortunately, you can’t build a Nether portal in the end. Although it is possible to create the frame for a nether portal, it can’t be activated. Instead, when you use a flint and steel on the portal a normal flame will appear.
How to Activate an End Portal
You can activate an end portal by placing an eye of ender on each of the end portal frames. The end portal will automatically activate once each frame has an eye of ender.
Is the Nether Connected to the End?
The Nether and the End are two different locations. The two do not intersect or interact at all. To get to the end you will need to use an End Portal, which is completely different to a nether portal.
